DC Udhampur discusses arrangements for 3-day historic Sudhmahadev Mela

UDHAMPUR, June 13: To discuss the arrangements for the smooth conduct of 3-day historic Sudhmahadev Mela, commencing from 21st of June 2024, the Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai today convened a meeting of officers of various departments at Conference Hall DC Office Complex Udhampur.
ADDC Rajinder Singh, ADC Joginder Singh Jasrotia, CPO Mohd Iqbal, SDM, Chenani Gurdev Kumar and other senior officers besides representatives of Mela Committee attended the meeting.
Detailed discussions were held on various arrangements including security, sanitation, health care, transport, traffic management, water and power supply, installation of departmental stalls, maintenance of road, checking of rates etc.
While addressing the meeting, the DC directed all the district officers to work in coordination for finalizing necessary arrangements and also added that all the arrangements must be put in place well before the commencement of the mela.
She urged the local Mela Committee members to come forward in making the mela a grand success as public participation is of great importance in promoting tourism and economy of the area.
Tehsildar Chenani was appointed as the Mela Officer and was asked to take stock of all arrangements regarding the Mela.
Executive Engineer PHE was asked to make adequate arrangements regarding drinking water supply at the mela site while Xen PDD was directed to provide uninterrupted power supply during the mela days.
The DC directed the concerned to ensure filling up of all the potholes and asked them to take up the work of repair of the road at the earliest.
The Chief Medical Officer was directed to deploy a team of doctors to provide first aid facilities. It was decided that District Police would deploy adequate security personnel during mela days while ARTO would deploy sufficient number of buses from different locations.
The DC asked the officers to install different departmental stalls for generating awareness among the people regarding the various Government schemes.
