UDHAMPUR, Nov 9: District Volleyball Association has established a new Volleyball court and water facility here at the Mini Stadium. The facilities were inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai in presence of members of District Volleyball Association.
The initiative aims to address the increasing demand for practice spaces, as the existing facilities were insufficient for the growing number of young players in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Udhampur inaugurated both the volleyball court and the water facility. She highlighted that these new amenities would not only serve the local community but also inspire public involvement in development and maintenance efforts. The DC expressed hope that these initiatives would foster a greater sense of civic responsibility towards the upkeep of public infrastructure, while simultaneously promoting sports and wellness within the district.
The District Volleyball Association conveyed its gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner for granting the necessary approvals. The association noted that these developments are expected to significantly benefit aspiring athletes by providing enhanced training conditions and furthering their growth in sports.
The inauguration event was attended by notable individuals, including Ved Pummy, Sunil Sharma, Upkar Singh, Ravi Vasandi, Ashok Kumar, Joint Secretary and Ashok Padha President Volleyball Association. Cadets from the National Cadet Corps were also present.
