JAMMU, Jan 23: Dogra Degree College organized the investiture ceremony cum alumni meet in the college auditorium, bringing together students, faculty, and distinguished guests to celebrate leadership and alumni engagement.
The event was graced by the chief guest, Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak, Chairman of Dogra Educational Trust (DET), who in his address emphasized the importance of alumni engagement in shaping the future of the institution. He encouraged both students and alumni to remain connected to contribute to the College’s ongoing success.
The programme earlier commenced with an inaugural session led by Aditi Khajuria, IQAC Coordinator, who delivered the opening remarks. This was followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp and the presentation of a sapling, symbolizing growth and new beginnings.
Balwant Singh, HoD Arts and Students Council Coordinator, delivered a warm welcome address, setting an encouraging tone for the ceremony. The Students Council president, Daksha Kaushal, then inspired the audience with a speech highlighting the council’s vision and commitment.
The event also featured addresses by Dr Dharamveer Sharma, Dean of Dogra Group of Colleges.
The second session, Alumni Meet, commenced at 12:30 PM and was spear headed by Ravinder Kumar, convener of the Cultural Committee, alongside Daksha Kaushal. Ms. Shivani Kashyap, a member of the Alumni Committee, welcomed the alumni, followed by a key address by Dr Bela Thakur, Principal of Dogra Degree College.
The meet featured a series of cultural performances. A special segment was dedicated to alumni experience sharing, where former students reflected on their journey after graduating from Dogra Degree College
Further, Dr Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary of DET, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of alumni contributions to the institution’s growth.
The event concluded with closing remarks by Anshika Vaid, 6th-semester student.
