DDC holds PRIs, public meet at Arnas, Dharmari

REASI, May 1: District Development Commissioner Reasi, Sushma Chauhan convened a meeting of PRIs and locals at Arnas and Dharmari to take stock of public grievances and review various developmental works being executed in the Panchayats.
SDM Dharmari-Naresh Kumar Sharma, DSWO Reasi-Rafiq Ahmad Jaral, sectoral officers of various departments, Sarpanchs, Panchs and prominent citizens from Panchayats of Arnas and Mahore blocks attended the meeting.
Issues related to health, roads, schools, compensation, shortage of staff and doctors were discussed in the meeting. Shortage of ration for uncovered families and under-staffing schools apart from frequent transformer damages remained main issues for which decisions were also taken.
Chauhan called upon the Panchayats to actively participate in the development planning process and assured the people that all their genuine demands will be conceded in a phased manner.
PRIs appreciated the proactive role played by district administration in prompt grievance redressal and taking Panchayats on board for planning and development process. They also lauded the capacity building of Panchayats through frequent meetings and e-Panchayat project launched successfully in the district.
Chauhan asked PRIs to continue their efforts for development at grassroots, adding that the feedback of the civil society can be very helpful in creating a people friendly administration.
Later, Chauhan also convened a meeting of all sectoral and block officers at Arnas. She called upon the officers to make people aware of various schemes for improving their socio-economic status and ensure redressal of the grievances in time bound manner.
