UDHAMPUR, Aug 29: Three days Divisional level Inter-District Handball Tournament for boys and girls of all age groups got underway at Mini Stadium, here today.
District Development Commissioner (DDC) Udhampur Madam Yasha Mudgal declared the tournament open. Assistant Director Planning Rakesh Jamwal was also present in the inaugural function.
About 342 players drawn from the different Districts of Jammu Division are participating in the Tournament, which is being organized by the District Youth Services Sports Office Udhampur, under the supervision of DYSSO.
In Under-19 boys, Jammu outplayed Poonch by (15–8) points, while in U-14 boys, Doda defeated Rajouri by (14–5) points.
Meanwhile, in U-19 girls, Doda thrashed Poonch by (18–1) points and in U-17 girls Udhampur prevailed over Poonch by (9 – 1).
