PULWAMA, May 18: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom today inaugurated Inter District Provincial level U-19 Girls Kho-Kho tournament at Govt Degree College for Women Pulwama, here.
Around 108 girl students of U-19 age group from nie districts of Kashmir took part in the competition, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports Kashmir and hosted by YS&S Pulwama.
Calling Youth a catalyst of development and change, the DDC said that sports activities teach qualities of leadership, team spirit, tolerance and have an important role in developing values, mutual trust and sportsmanship among the youth. He added sports is emerging as a career in current times and can be the best option.
He urged the participants to keep participating in sports activities with dedication and enthusiasm and bring laurels at the National and International levels.
The participants were wished by all the officials of the Department of Youth Services and Sports Pulwama for their best performance in the competitions.
Principal Govt Degree College for Women Pulwama, Dr. Yasmeena Farooq, ZPEOs, Physical Education Masters, Physical Education Teachers, Team In-Charges, Lecturers and others were also present.
