DDC inspects migrants’ camp, reviews relief measures

SAMBA, Jan 7:  District Development Commissioner Mubarak Singh today visited relief camp Chichi Mata and reviewed basic amenities being provided to the people of the border areas in the camp.
He also convened a meeting of senior officers to review the relief measures being provided to the people of border areas who were badly affected by the border firing at DC Complex.
The DDC impressed upon all the officers present to provide assistance to the affected families and ensure that people are not put to any inconvenience. It was also informed that food and other basic facilities have been provided in these camps by the district administration under the direct supervision of DDC Samba.
It was further informed that temporary shelter camps for families affected due to border firing is being daily monitored by the ADDC Samba in Sub Division Ghagwal, ADC Samba in Sub Division Vijaypur  and ACR Samba  in Tehsil Samba.
All the Tehsildars and Block Development Officers were directed to make liaison with Sarpanchs, Panchs and local people. Directions were also given to issue advisory to people regarding safety measures and to stay indoors in case of heavy firing/shelling.
It was informed that temporary shelter camps to accommodate the affected families from shelling across the border have been established in the district at various places ‘viz’ Chichi Mata Temple Complex , Community Hall-Kalibari, Nonath Ashram, Narsingh Dev Ji Temple Complex, Panchayat Ghar Madoon , Community Hall- Abtal, Govt Higher Secondary School Ramgarh, Shiv Mandir Rakh Amb Tali, Kabir Mandir, Rakh Amb Tali and Govt. High School Rehian.
