KUPWARA, July 3: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Anshul Garg today inaugurated Open Gym at Public Park Bohipora in presence of Additional Deputy Commission, Nazir Ahmad Lone and District Youth Service and Sports Officer.
The Gym was established by Youth Services and Sports Department at a cost of Rs 5.7 lakh.
On the occasion, the DDC said that the Gym would facilitate the recreation of people, especially youth, besides it would help them to maintain their physical health.
It was informed that Rs 4 lakh has been spent on the purchase of gym equipments and the funding was made by District Administration.
The equipments were acquired including Health walker, Dual sky, Sit-up-bench, Big turning wheel, Twister, Push hands, Rower, Cycle, Abdominal sit-up-bench, besides it was also informed that the Gym has been thrown open for people of all ages and gender.
