POONCH, June 5: To encourage the trainees of Day Boarding Scheme (Hockey), the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch distributed kits sponsored by Sports Authority of India (SAI) among 12 girls and 8 boys, who have participated in junior, sub junior and national level hockey tournaments this season at Sports Stadium, here.
An exhibition hockey match was played on the occasion between the DBS trainees of Sports Stadium Poonch, wherein former defeated latter by three goals to one. Raman Singh’s double strike in 5th and 24th minute gave DBS an early lead, which was enhanced by the goal in 30th minute by Saval Ahmed, while Nazarat Hussain netted the lone goal for the trainees of Sports Stadium in 45th minute.
The match was officiated by Narjeet Singh, Vikas Sharma and Ravinder Singh.
DDC Poonch was the chief guest on the occasion, while Principal GHSS Poonch, Makhan Lal Sharma was the guest of honour.
Chief Engineer PWD, Bodh Raj Raina, president Hockey Poonch, Dr Jevan Lal Kapoor, Incharge Sports Stadium Poonch, Nirdosh Kumar, senior Advocate Sanjay Raina were present on the occasion.
The function was organized and supervised by Sham Lal Sharma, SAI hockey coach and Incharge Day Boarding Scheme (Hockey), Poonch.
