RAJOURI, Jan 18: In meeting of District Level Review Committee/ District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) for third quarter ending December 2017, District Development Commissioner Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today   reviewed the performance of various sponsoring departments and financial institutions under Annual Credit Plan 2017-18.
Detailed deliberations were held regarding position of Deposits, Advances, CD Ratio and advances under Credit-linked schemes.
Referring to low Credit-Deposit Ratio/Loan-to-Deposit Ratio in the district, the DDC impressed upon the bankers to achieve targeted 44.70% by March 31, 2018. He also directed them to ensure that the cases sponsored under credit-linked schemes are sanctioned and advances are made in a time bound manner as it will greatly improve the CD ratio of the banks.
The bankers were asked to conduct Financial Literacy Camps in collaboration with line departments on regular basis to educate the rural masses about benefits entailed under schemes initiated by financial institutions and central & State Government.
The meeting also discussed the importance of organising product specific camps like Financial Inclusion, housing loan melas, education loan fairs, MSME seminars etc in dissemination of information to targeted groups.
“Advances of Rs 11897 lakh against a target of Rs 53435 lakh under Priority Sector reflects dismal performance of banks”, Dr. Shahid said, adding the banks need to boost lending in priority sectors for socio-economic development of all sections of the society.
The meeting also reviewed the performance under credit-linked schemes such as PMEGP, NULM, NRLM, PMWMY, KCC, Joint Liability Groups, DEDS etc. The DDC directed the concerned officers to keep a track of all sponsored cases and sanctioned cases and also inspect the units once the loan is disbursed to freeze the misuse of funds. Chief Agriculture Officer was asked to submit details under loanee forms so that KCC cards can be issued to the beneficiaries.
It was also decided that District Task Force Committee will meet every fortnight to scrutinise and select cases of genuine and interested candidates for further processing. It will discourage the practice of bulk sponsoring which is root cause of huge pendency of cases at bank level.
Later, District Development Commissioner launched Potential Linked Plan, prepared by District Development Manager NABARD Desh Raj, for the financial year 2018-19.
Earlier the Lead Bank Officer Parvaiz Mir made detailed presentation about performance of banks and line departments under Annual Credit Plan 2017-18.
