DDC reviews preparations for Kala Utsav

SAMBA, Sept 6: District Development Commissioner Samba, Sheetal Nanda reviewed preparations for ensuing Kala Utsav in a meeting here today.
Kala Utsav is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) to promote arts in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of students from class 9th to 12th in the field of Music, Dance, Theatre and Visual Arts.
The DC directed officials to organise school level competitions on September 15 and Zonal Level competitions on September 21 with successful participants competing at the district level. She stressed upon ensuring maximum participation of students from across the district. She informed that administration will make suitable efforts for further grooming of budding artists.
Later, the DDC also reviewed the status of Swacch Vidyalya, Adhaar Seeding and school activities under Beti Bachao Beti Padao campaign. She directed schools to carefully implement guidelines so that they may be honoured under ‘Swachh Vidyalya Puraskar’ for excellent hygiene and sanitary practices. She also directed CEO Samba to issue notices to those private schools which are not cooperating in the Adhaar enrolment/seeding drive.
The DDC also announced that on September 17, all schools in the district will organise a painting and slogan writing competition where chart paper and water colours will be provided to the children free of cost. The successful entries will be awarded and their slogans/paintings will be used in BBBP campaign in the district.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Samba Vivek Sharma, CEO Samba O.P Bhagat, ZEOs, Principals and Headmasters of Schools of District Samba.
