DDC reviews progress of banks in dlrc meeting

Kathua, July 31: District Level Review Committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Kathua Ajay Singh Jamwal to review the progress of banks.
During the meeting , flow of GLC, performance of banks in key areas relating to deposits, advances under priority sector and lending for the quarter ended March 2015 were reviewed.
ADDC Kathua Manmohan Singh, ACD Dr. Sunil Sharma, Manager RBI Ram Kuwar, AGM (DD) NABARD Aman Kalsotra, LDM SBI Ashok Khashu, Cluster Head J&K Bank Shareesh Sharma, Area Manager, JKGB K L Sharma, were present. The Government Officers who attended the meeting were Chief Agriculture Officer Bipin Sambyal, Chief Horticulture Officer Dr.Travinder Singh, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Dr. Surjit Singh, Project Officer, DRDA Kewal Kumar, Project officer, DUDA Jaffer Abbas and other district officers were present in the meeting.
The Chairman, had a thread bare review of Annual Credit Plan, CD ratio, JKSES /SC-ST-OBC / KVIB / KVIC / DIC / SJSRY / Handloom / Handicraft, with special emphasis on KCC and financial inclusion. He advised all banks to focus on awareness programmes for dissemination of information to general public. He laid emphasis on linkages under social security scheme like Atal Pension Yojana, Suraksha Bima Yojana, Jevan Jyoti Yojana.
He impressed upon the banks and line departments to ensure effective coordination in their working. He desired that potential under allied activities be exploited fully with focus on Horticulture, Dairy, Poultry etc. He emphasized the need of inclusive growth and team oriented approach for development, with greater coordination between bankers and Governments Departments.
RBI exalted upon the bankers to organize at least one awareness camp each by all branches every month, focus on aggressive lending in key areas, so as to achieve CD ratio of 60%.
LDM, Kathua while presenting the achievements under Annual Action Plan for the year 2014-15, informed the house that Rs 387.99 crores have been disbursed in the district by March 2015. The ACP for 2015-16 is Rs 988.54 crores of which Rs 557.54 is under priority sector. 82571 accounts under PMJDY ,107 accounts under Atal Pension Yojana, 15362 accounts under Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and 29246 accounts under Suraksha Bima Yojana have been opened in Kathua district.
