SAMBA, July 23: In response to the long pending demand for the shifting of cremation ground at Purmandal, DDC Samba Sheetal Nanda visited the site at Purmandal and held a meeting with public of the area.
SSP Samba Joginder Singh, SDPO Bari Brahamana, Tehsildar Bari Barhamana, Sarpanchs, Panchs, Lambardar, Chowkidar and locals attended the meeting.
Pertinent to mention here that there are two sections of people – one in favour of shifting cremation ground and other against it.
DC Samba Sheetal Nanda while speaking on the occasion said the administration will call equal number of representatives of both the sections and decide the matter amicably keeping in mind the developmental aspect and also the religious sentiments of people.
She assured that decision will be taken in the larger interest of people.
She advised people not to be averse to change and not to keep personal interests over the overall benefit of the society at large.
The people also highlighted the problem of road connectivity and demanded immediate repair of Bari Brahamana – Purmandal road which is in dilapidated condition.
