Dealers arrested for black- marketing 3950 kg Govt ration

JAMMU, Sept 30: Police unearthed the nexus between Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) dealers and shopkeepers in Khour area with the seizure of 3950 kilograms of Government ration and arrest of CAPD dealer.
As per police sources, a complaint from Pritam Singh, son of Hari Singh of Khunda Khour was received by Khour police that CAPD dealer namely Balbir Gupta, son of Ram Saran, a resident of Panyali loaded Government ration meant for public distribution in a vehicle from TSO Office, Khour.
The complainant further stated that at Khunda, the said dealer along with other CAPD dealer identified as Satpaul of Khuda loaded 8 more bags of atta in the same vehicle to sale all Government ration among shopkeepers and locals in Panyali.
Acting on the complaint, a case under FIR Number 69/15 under Section 3/7 Essential Commodities Act was registered at Khour police station and investigation started.
A police team raided the store of Balbir Gupta at Panyali and seized 38 bags of atta, 32 bags of sugar and 9 bags of rice. Police seized a total of 3950 kilograms of ration, which was meant for public distribution.
Police arrested the CAPD dealer Balbir Gupta on the spot, whileas another dealer Satpaul managed to escape and hunt has been launched to nab him.
Police team led by from Khour police station led by SHO SI Mohammad Iqbal Chagatta accompanied by Incharge Police Post Pallanwala SI Vishal Dogra unearthed the nexus between CAPD officials and shopkeepers under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Naresh Singh, SP Rural Rajeev Pandey and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
