JAMMU, Feb 2: JK Christian Minority Welfare Association observed 23rd death anniversary of Ex MLC Wazir Masih- the first Christian Member of Legislative Council, here today.
The program started with the prayer by Johnson Gill, followed by zaboor bible songs by Daud and Anny while the sermon was given by Fr Kuriakose, wherein several leaders of different parties were present.
Nassir Masih, chairman of the Association, said that Ex MLC was a source of inspiration because of his natural elegance to empower the poor section. His life is an inspiration to all those who were oppressed and deprived.
Gurdarshan Singh, vice chairman JKPCC Minority Department said that he devoted his entire life in the service of people and upliftment of underprivileged and poor sections of the society, while S.Peter, former Advisor to Chief Minister throw light on the life of Wazir Masih and said 23 years ago, Christian community lost a great leader and a nationalist and a friend.
Michael Wazir, Ritu Choudhary Councillor, Shalty Manchanda and many others also spoke on the death anniversary of former MLC.
