RAJOURI, Feb 21: District Information Center today organised a debate competition cum cultural programme at Govt High School, Laam, Nowshera.
SDPO Nowshera, Sargun Shukla was the chief guest on the occasion.
Various school students participated in the debate competition and spoke on the topic “Education should be skill based rather than knowledge based”. Students also highlighted the need to have skill based education curriculum.
Amarpal Singh was adjudged winner while Parvinder Singh & Royal Kesar were declared second and third respectively in the competition.
Speaking on the occasion, SDPO Sargun Shukla appreciated the efforts of Information Department for providing platform to the students to express and exchange their views on such important issues.
Later, a cultural programme was also presented by the artists of Information Department on the occasion.
Similarly, debate competitions were also organised for the students of Govt High School, Laroka, Govt Middle School, Daronigala, Campla and Pukharni. At Laroka, Manoj was adjudged as winner while Saqib Akram and Mohit Choudhary were adjudged as second and third.
At Pukharni, Arif Hussain got 1st position while Maroof Hussain and Neya Kausar were adjudged as 2nd and 3rd respectively.
While at Daronigala, Rashid Anwar stood 1st and Tanvir and Rafia Kosar got 2nd and 3rd prize. At Campla, Nazia Kosar, Sania Kosar and Satnam Kour were adjudged as 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
