JAMMU, Aug 8: Army along with Zonal Education Office, Akhnoor organized an inter school debate competition at Government High School Sunail in Akhnoor sector of Jammu district, here today. Total eight schools of Akhnoor Zone participated in the competition ‘Is brain drain a bane for India’.
Teachers and children from Government High School Devipur, Garkhal, Sunail, Barui, Maira Mandrian, Bhalwal Brahmana, Kotli Tanda and Kotgarhi of Akhnoor Zone participated in the contest. It was a keenly contested competition generating much interest amongst the students.
Participants diligently expressed their views giving insight into the topic which was widely applauded by everyone witnessing the debate. Shagun Bakshi of Government High School Sunail bagged the first prize while Riya Pawar and Madhu Kumari from Government High School Kotli Tanda and Government High School Maira Mandarin respectively stood second.
Suman Bala, ZEO Akhnoor, was the chief guest on this occasion who gave the prizes to the winners. She appreciated all the participants and teachers for their participation and excellent preparation for the debate. She also urged schools to organize more such debates which promote coherent thoughts and assist the young minds in improving their communication skills.
