Declamation contest on drinking water, sanitation organized

JAMMU, Mar 19: In view of low awareness in the villages across India on issues pertaining to Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation, a Declamation Contest to aware the general masses about the best practices to be adopted for safe drinking water and sanitation, was today organized in Government Higher Secondary School (Girls) Doda by District Information Centre Doda in collaboration with Education Department and other allied Departments .
Assistant Commissioner Revenue Doda, Vaibhav Kohli was the chief guest on the occasion besides Executive Engineer PHE Division Doda A W Zargar, Chief Education Officer Doda Ajeet Kumar Sharma, District Education and Planning Officer Doda Ayaz Mughal, Chief Medical Officer Doda Dr. Yaqoob Mir, District Panchayat Officer Doda, Altaf Mir, District Information Officer Doda Anoop Kumar, Principal GHSS (Girls) Doda Shahida Khan and Senior Lecturers and Teachers witnessed the contest.
Seven students participated in the contest among which Payal Sharma of Class 12th bagged the 1st position while as Toba Banoo and Mehak Rasool Bhat both of 12th class were adjudged 2nd and 3rd respectively.
While speaking on the occasion ACR Doda Mr. Kohli, Executive Engineer PHE Division Doda, Mr Zargar and CMO Doda Dr Mir spoke on the occasion and highlighted the benefits of sanitation and as to how the sanitation results in the availability of safe drinking water.
CEO Doda, A K Sharma, DEPO Doda Ayaz Mughal, DIO Doda Anoop Kumar and Principal GHSS (Girls) Doda Shahida Khan also spoke on the occasion.
