Jammu, July 16: A delegation of Chamber of Traders Federation under the chairmanship of its president Yashpaul Gupta called upon Principal Commissioner of Income Tax J&K to discuss the various problems being faced by the traders.
The Principal Commissioner listened very patiently to all the points raised by the members in connection with the difficulties being faced on various technical grounds. She assured the members that all their demands will be forwarded to the CBDT for giving relief to the traders wherever possible.
She explained her course of action and said that she wanted to launch awareness campaign to convince the traders & businessman to become a part of the income tax payers club as the tax payers are the backbone of the national program of social development. She said that many people have certain doubts about paying taxes as they fear unnecessary harassment at the hands of the Income Tax Department.
She explained that she wanted the new assesses to come forward without any fear and become willing participants in the development of the nation. Kailash V.K. Singh Joint Commissioner Income Tax was also present in the meeting.
Delegation assured the Principal Commissioner of its whole hearted cooperation and promised that they would convince more and more traders to file their income tax return voluntarily without any doubt, fear or reservation.
