LEH, July 5: A delegation comprising Joint Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Rajesh Singh; Director General, National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), M.M Tripathy and Director NIELIT Ladakh, Phunchok Toldan called on Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr.) B.D Mishra (Retd).
Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Advisor to the LG was also present in the meeting.
Tripathy informed the LG about NIELIT centres at Leh and Kargil along with the IT Enabled Incubation Centre for Handicraft and Handloom Sector.
He raised the issue faced by the students due to bad condition of the approach road to the Centre and requested intervention of LG in this regard.
Tripathy also talked about various digital literacy courses being provided by them to increase employability of the youth and demanded inclusion of NIELIT digital literacy course as eligibility criteria for fresh recruitments and career promotion in Ladakh.
Rajesh informed the LG about various utility-based applications developed by the members of NIC Kargil and demanded necessary support to them for their strengthening.
He also informed about the plan to provide training to youth from Ladakh to make them employable for upcoming solar park project in Pang area and assured to provide assistance to the budding start-ups from Ladakh.
The LG assured to look into the issue of approach road at NIELIT in Kargil along with the promotion of digital literacy programmes in Ladakh for career growth.
He also assured to provide all possible assistance for the benefit of Ladakhi youth and gave assurance to provide support for the strengthening of NIC in Ladakh.
The LG voiced for training to Ladakhi youth to make them employable for the upcoming solar park project in Pang.
