Delegation of Teachers Forum calls on DSEJ, highlights demands

JAMMU, Oct 6: A deputation led by Ganesh Khajuria, State Chairman Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum, called on Director School Education Jammu Anuradha Gupta and highlighted the burning issues of teaching fraternity.
Ganesh Khajuria drew attention of the Director towards the demands, which include release of due salary of the Masters working as Head Teachers in the erstwhile SSA upgraded Middle Schools, who are struggling hard for the sanction of permanent posts of Masters on the pattern of Masters working under the erstwhile RMSA schemes for the release of their regular salaries as well as the pay arrears on account of 7th Pay Commission.
He also apprised the Director that the Masters who have been promoted as I/C Lecturers in different disciplines have not been given any monetary benefits as they have been elevated on their own pay Grade (OPG) without any charge allowance as admissible under rules.
“The graduate and the under graduate ReTs who have completed their five years of regular services in the Education Department should be regularized as Teachers Grade II and Teachers Grade III at the earliest as their cases are already lying pending in the office of DSEJ despite the approval by the concerned CEOs,” he added.
The Forum also demanded repatriation of all the Lecturers, Headmasters and Masters working in the Hard Zones and far Flung areas since the last 3 to 6 years, release of salary of Teachers appointed under NPS schemes and regularization of all the cadres of the School Education Department who are promoted/ elevated to the next higher cadres before October 31, 2019.
The Director School Education, after listening to the demands, issued on the spot directions to the concerned officials for the redressal of certain issues within her competency and assured the deputation that the remaining demands which were out of her competency will be sorted out before Oct 18, 2019.
