Delhi Wrestler Nirmal lifts 20th Bhamag Kesari Title

KATRA, May 17: Wrestler Nirmal of Master Chandgi Ram Akhara Delhi lifted the 20th Annual Bhamag Kesari Title 2018 by defeating Wrestler Mustba Kamal (Bablu) of Basantgarh in Udhampur District in a very tough fight for the first malli bout that lasted for 9 minutes at Sardabbar, Kalsote (Moungri), here.
Dangal was organized by J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association in collaboration with J&K Police Department, J&K Tourism Department, J&K Bank Moungri and Bhamag Dangal Committee under the overall supervision of President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma and General Secretary Udhampur District Indian Style Wrestling Association Om Parkash Verma.
Ajay Nanda, Minister for Finance, Planning, Information Technology, Law, Justice, Agriculture, Floriculture and Horticulture was the chief guest on the occasion who witnessed the whole event and encouraged the youths who participated in these types of rural Sports and gave away cash prizes to the winners and runner-up Wrestlers.
Mr Sharma presided over the function.
Advocate Swantantar Dev Kotwal, Chairman Lord Shiva Parvati Caves Shrine (Moungri), DySP Hemant Singh, Mela Officer Tehsildar Amit Kumar Verma, BDO Suman Katal, Manager J&K Bank Moungri Vicky Magotra and Vice-President Sukhdev Singh Senior Citizens Welfare Forum Katra were the guests of honour.
In all, 25 bouts were played in the day-long famous and historic Dangal. Winner of Ist malli bout was awarded a cash prize of Rs 5,000 along with traditional Gurj (Gadda) and Patta by MoS Ajay Nanda, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Swantanter Dev Kotwal, while runners-up Wrestler Bablu got Rs 3,000 from DySP Hemant Singh, Tehsildar Amit Kumar Verma and Manager J&K Bank Vicky Magotra.
