Delhi’s Yudhbir lifts Gun Dangal title

REASI, Apr 12: Wrestler Yudhbir of Delhi defeated wrestler Ajay Sharma of Udhampur to win the 31st Gun (Reasi) Dangal title 2024 here today. The main bout lasted for 11 minutes.
Shiv Kumar Sharma former Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council and President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association was the chief guest who gave away cash prizes to the wrestlers. Former Sarpanches Goutam Kumar, Rattan Singh and Rafiq were the guests of honour.
Dangal was organized by Gun (Reasi) Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of Tilak Raj, President Gun Dangal Committee, Karnail Singh, Sarf Singh, and other members. The bouts were officiated by Prabhat Singh, Pawan Singh, Anil Kumar, Murli Dhar (Munna) and Harbans Lal.
Wrestler Yudhbir, the winner of 1st malli was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 8,000 by chief guest Shiv Kumar Sharma while Runner-up wrestler Ajay Sharma got a cash prize of Rs 5,000. There were 51 bouts played in the Dangal and a total Rs 1, 00,000 was distributed as cash prizes among the wrestlers.
In the 2nd main Malli bout was fought between Kulbir Singh of Kot Bhalwal Jammu against Youv Raj of Jammu. The bout ended in a draw that lasted for 20 minutes, cash prize Rs 11,000 jointly distributed among the both wrestlers.
Third main bout was won by Sunil Kumar of Kot Bhalwal Jammu who defeated wrestler Bunty of Uttar Pradesh. The winner Sunil Kumar was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 6,000 while Runner -up Bunty got a cash prize of Rs 4,000.
Members of the Gun Dangal Committee who helped in conducting Dangal included President Tilak Raj, Karnail Singh, Sarf Singh, Jaswant Singh, Balwan Singh, Kuldeep Raj, Ex. Sarpanch Deya Ram, Karan Singh, Bharat Bushan, Ashok Singh, Yash Paul, Babu Ram, Mukesh Kumar, Mohd. Hanief (Ex. Panch) Salinder Kumar and Devinder Singh.
