Sir,
Demonetization has been one of the most talked about things in last one month. Besides, giving sleepless nights to black money hoarders, fighting terrorist fundings and fake currency supplies, it also has provided fodder to the socio-political commentators, who by now were running out of topics. Every other newspaper column, articles, survey is revolving around demonetization. The sad part is, most of them are not even familiar with how economy is calculated and the peculiarities involved, yet are hailing/criticizing the move. Some of them are trying to justify their stand in “less than 140 characters” (TWITTER). The queue of opinions is longer than all the ATM queues put together. And, we as a society are all ears to them and mould our opinion around their notions. Not very surprising though, as we belong to a community who trust a chemist’s prescription more than the specialist doctor’s prescription.
