JAMMU, Aug 3: Dental Surgeons Association Jammu Kashmir (DSA-JK) today continued their dharna for 34th consecutive day and hunger strike of female dental surgeons at Amphalla Chowk, Jammu.
Dr. Pawan Singh Jasrotia, the Chairman of the Association said that despite being on roads for 34 days, we are still awaiting positive response from the Government side. Female hunger strike which entered its 22nd day today is also not able to awake the Government from its deep slumber yet.
Dr. Singh also said that a delegation of Dental Surgeons Association met with JKPCC president Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz yesterday and he gave positive response and assured that he will take issues with concerned Minister and CM.
Dr. Singh further said that another delegation on Sunday met MLC and JKPCC spokesperson Ravinder Sharma and JKPCC MLA Indu Pawar and they too assured that they will take the issues in the forthcoming meeting of State Health Committee on August 6, at Srinagar.
He said JKPCC joint secretary, Salman Nazami visited the dharna place at Ambphalla, Jammu and assured that he will take our matter with higher authorities.
Continuing the female chain hunger strike, today Dr. Ankita Pawar is sitting on fast & carrying this movement forward .
Dr. Singh reminded the Government that this agitation is not going to end till the demands are met and in case Government fails to settle the demands the strike will take more aggressive turn in coming days.
The Association is demanding, complete absorption of unemployed dental youth, recruitment of dental surgeons on every year basis and establishment of separate directorate for dental health in the State.
