Deputation of PREWA meets DGP Prisons

JAMMU, Apr 15:  A deputation of J&K Prisons Retired Welfare Association (PREWA) led by its president, Krishan Singh met P L Gupta, DGP Prisons in presence of DIS M S Lone and Staff Officer Saba Shawal, today.
The deputation laid stress upon review and present day needs as is done in the police organization from time to time.  DGP gave a patient hearing and assured to consider the issue related to the welfare rules, medical assistance and guest house facility in its real perspective.
He issued directions for convening a meeting on a larger scale next month to give an opportunity to the retired Prison personnel to listen their problems.
The participants, Mohinder Singh, Amarjeet Singh, Chuni Lal, Bharat Bhushan, Abdul Hayad and Sham Lal appreciated the keen interest shown by the DGP to hear their collective and individual problems being faced by the retiree in old age.
The deputation also pleaded for acceleration of the process for filling the vacant posts to meet infrastructural requirements.
The deputation also put forth their pending demands and hoped for an early redressal.
