JAMMU, June 4: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today launched Power Development Department website to provide online access of services to the electricity consumers of Electric Maintenance and Rural Electrification Division-III.
The consumers can access to PDD Division-III through www.ed3jammu.com to avail the services including access to electricity bills and online payments. The consumers can also manage their electricity bills by using online bill calculator available on the website.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said that over 1.5 lakh consumers falling in the Division-III will be benefitted by the online services.
He said that website will also provide daily information to the consumers about new connections, power shutdown, outages and transformer failures in their areas. The consumers can register their complaints online and give their feedback directly to the department through department’s dedicated e-mail id-feedback@ed3jammu.com.
The website has been designed by the Nittin Verma and Divya Gupta (Junior Engineers) under the guidance of Sanjay Sharma Executive Engineer, EMRE-III, Jammu.
The portal would also provide basic information about various energy saving techniques, safety tips and will act as a communication platform between consumes and the department.
Meanwhile, the Deputy CM also inaugurated newly constructed 10MVA, 33/11KV Receiving Station at Manda. A large number of locals and Power Development Department functionaries were also present at the inaugural ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy CM said that the commissioning of the Receiving Station will streamline power supply to New Plot, Janipur, Sarwal, Pacca Talab, Ambphalla, Rehari, Ved Mandir and other adjoining areas.
Reiterating the commitment of Government to improve the power supply scenario in the State, the Deputy CM said that main focus is being laid on improvement of Transmission and distribution network to minimize pilferage.
Meanwhile, DyCM provided financial assistance under Special Central Assistance (SCA) to Scheduled Castes Sub Plan (SCSP) at Dayala Chak in Kathua.
Financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 each was provided to 59 persons of Billawar under the scheme having objective of giving thrust to family oriented scheme of economic development of SCs below the poverty line, by providing resources for filling the critical gaps and by analyzing upon the local occupational pattern and the economic activities available.
Earlier, the locals projected issues of scarcity of drinking water, low voltage, road connectivity and provision of veterinary hospital in the area.
Responding to the demands, Dr Nirmal Singh said that the present dispensation is working for strengthening of developmental infrastructure in the hilly, Kandi and remote areas to improve the living standard of the rural masses. He said Billawar area has great potential of becoming a major tourist destination and every possible step would be taken to showcase it on the State’s tourist map.
