In view of the suggestions offered by Rajinder Chand Anthal in DE April 01,2017, I endorse his views and further add that Devika river at Udhampur has since dried up. There is no source of water to this river.Whatever little water is seen at Devika ghat Udhampur is the consequence of polluted water of many drains falling into it. The concept of cleaning this water at Devika ghat would be a futile exercise. The polluted water falling into Devika from below the taxi stand be diverted to some other side .The bore wells be created at Devika ghat so that the fresh water is provided to the devotees. The other alternative is to collect water from Venisangh with pipe line and leave at Devika Ghat . This arrangement may provide uninterrupted original holy water of Devika at Devika ghat Udhampur. This would not disturb existing status or sanctity of any shrine. The proposal may be viewed on its merits by the authorities
