JAMMU, June 13: Two NCC Cadets (Priyanshi & Prachi Sharma) of Dewan Devi Public School and 2 J&K Girls Battalion participated in All India Girls Trekking Expedition 2024 which was held in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. It was hosted by 5 HP (1) COY NCC Dharamshala where cadets from 7 Directorates joined which included JK&L, Rajasthan, UP, Uttarakhand, PHHP & Chandigarh and Punjab.
The experience of Cadets was ineffable as they tramped through Sidh Baba Trek, Tashiyoung Monastery, Indo-German Farm, Panchrukhi Railway Station, Mcleodganj, Subhash Hydro Project and Indru Nath Temple. Each visit offered an ethereal experience and gave cadets a moment of epiphany. Cadets got the first hand experience of topography, culture, heritage, language and weather conditions of Palampur.
Moreover, a folk presentation competition was organised in which JK&L earned 2nd position in the Cultural programme where cadets from all the 7 Directorates showcased their culture and heritage.
The trekking camp was an amalgamation of various activities that ensured the overall development of the Cadets. Principal of the School Seloni Suri and ANO Sarika appreciated the students.
