JAMMU, Jan 12: District Football Association (DFA) Anantnag and Sainik Colony Football Club registered convincing victories over their rivals in the ongoing 12th Christmas Gold Cup Football Tournament, being organised by All J&K Christian Welfare Association, under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) at GGM Sciecne College Football ground, here today.
In the first match, DFA Anantnag defeated NGR FC by three goals to nil (3-0). For DFA Ananatnag, Arbaaz scored the first and 3rd goal in 13th and 53rd minutes of the match, while Umar Farooq netted another goal in 52nd minute.
In another match, Sainik Colony FC got the better of Hero Football Club by two goals to nil (2-0). Aryaveer and Navdeep scored the goals for winners in 17th and 20th minutes of the match respectively.
The matches were officiated by a panel of experts namely Koushal Kumar, Moon Stephen, Dheraj Meenia, Rocky Sharma, Romesh Chander, Ricky Kumar and Mohinder Kalsi (Physio).
In tomorrow’s fixture, Arco FC Baramulla will lock horns with Sainik Colony Football Club at 11.30 am, Bank Academy will take on Vijay Club at 1.30 pm and Jammu United will face DFA Anantnag at 3 pm.
The matches among others were witnessed by SM Gill, Ex MLC and President All J&K Christian Welfare Association and Sheikh Mehmood, District President JKFA Jammu.
