DFA Jammu to organise State Football C’ship

JAMMU, Jan 28: The District Football Association (DFA) Jammu will be organising 27th State Championship in Jammu next month under the banner of J&K Football Association (JKFA).
This was disclosed by chairman of the DFA Jammu, Narinder Gupta in a statement issued here.
“The DFA Jammu has been assigned with the task by JKFA to host biggest event of J&K, the 27th State Championship in Jammu in February. In total, 46 teams, 23 each from the Kashmir and Jammu Divisions shall compete for the top honours,” informed Narinder Gupta.
From Jammu, nine district teams and 14 other sides of Grade-A shall be taking part in the competition.
Soon after the State Championship, the DFA Jammu will be organising under the banner of JKFA, the Martyrs Memorial Football Championship, an event of the J&K Police.
Both these prestigious events will be conducted at twin football fields of GGM Science College and Mini Stadium, Parade, here.
When asked about the remaining fixture of the Division-B League of DFA Jammu, he said that the tournament would be completed before March.
“We are committed to complete the Division-B League of Jammu. In addition, the DFA Jammu is on the job to formulate a comprehensive calendar of activities for the next sports season. A number of events have been planned for the next year,” disclosed chairman DFA Jammu.
