JAMMU, Mar 7: The workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena (DFSS) under the leadership of its president, Ashok Gupta, today took out a protest in old Jammu city by holding empty utensils in their hands against the non -availability of ration and sugar at the depots.
“Even after the tender process was completed the sugar has not been procured which just states how serious the Government is towards the development of the people and the so called agenda of the social development of the poor is nothing more than a lip song or an agenda”, Gupta said addressing the protesting activists.
He said that from last so many months there is acute shortage of ration items on the Ration Depots as consumers from Jammu province are deprived from thier due right. He said that BPL families are bearing the brunt due to this shortage as they have to buy ration and sugar from the open market at high rates which is beyond their reach.
Stating that the shortage of the kerosene oil has also badly hit the BPL families, he demanded enhancement in the ration and kerosene quota as the existing scale is not sufficient to meet the increased demand of the people.
