Srinagar, June 25: Director General of Border Security Force (BSF) Devendra Kumar Pathak, today reviewed security situation along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir and Amarnath Yatra.
Pathak reviewed the security situation along the LoC in Kashmir including the anti- infiltration measures taken on ground. “He was briefed about the prevailing security scenario along the LoC as well as in the hinterland by Inspector General BSF P S Sandhu”, a statement issued by the BSF said here.
The DG visited Baramulla Sector of BSF and was showcased anti- infiltration measures and preparedness of the BSF along the LoC and their anti-infiltration role. “While addressing the troops, he impressed upon maintaining alertness and vigil in view of forthcoming Amarnath Yatra, State Assembly elections and deteriorating security situation in neighbourhood”, the statement said.
DG BSF is on two day visit to Kashmir and visited Panjtarni, Baltal and holy cave to review the Security arrangements along the Baltal and Pahelgam routes of Amarnath Yatra yesterday. “During his visit the DG interacted with local BSF officers and men and was also briefed by Commandants of deployed BSF Battalions about the arrangements made by BSF for the Yatra”, the statement said.
It may be mentioned here that 25 companies of BSF are deployed for Yatra security. “BSF has also established 10 Medical camps for providing medical assistance to the pilgrims, 15 dog squads and 01 Bomb disposal squad at vulnerable places for securing the Yatra routes”, the spokesman said.
