JAMMU, Dec 10: Director General, Youth Services and Sports, Navin Agarwal facilitated Under-17 fencing players in an impressive and well attended function, here today
The fencers who were felicitated were the medallists from Jammu and Kashmir, who won silver and bronze medals in the recently concluded National School Games held at Telangana in the discipline of fencing.
The medal winners included Priyanka Khajuria, who won silver medal in sabre, Abdul Rafiq, who bagged silver in sabre and Jaspreet Kour, who claimed bronze in sabre individual.
Apart from individual events, J&K team of Abdul Rafiq, Nikhil Atri, Urnesh Kumar and Muzaffar Ferman won the bronze medal in sabre.
Ajay Kumar accompanied the team as general manager, while Ujjwal Gupta (International fencer) and Jyoti Sharma as coaches of boys and girls respectively.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were the Deputy Directors of Youth Services and Sports-Kanchan Bala and Haji Mirza.
