JAMMU, Dec 7: Director General Youth Services and Sports, Rajinder Singh Tara here today flagged off a 100-member contingent for 68th National School Games (NSG) 2024 to be held at Delhi from December 9 to 15, 2024.
Tara was accompanied by Sunil Kumar Sharma along with the officers and officials of the Activities Section of the Department.
The contingent includes Badminton U-14 Boys and Girls, Karate U-17 Boys & Girls, Wushu U-19 Boys & Girls, Weightlifting U-19 Boys & Girls and Boxing U-17 Boys & Girls.
Officials of the Department accompanying the teams include Dara Singh, Syed Showkat Indrabi, Nazeera Akhter, Raja Shabahat, Khalida Bano, Yashpal, Wajida Bano, Amit Sharma, Anita Bhat, Willam Kapoor and Alka Manhas.
Tara encouraged and motivated them to give their best during the games.
He also said that J&K possessed immense sporting talent.
Tara further said that the Department of Youth Services and Sports is serving as a nursery to tap the talent young at the grass-root level and explore the same at the national scene.
