SRINAGAR, Aug 25: Rajinder Singh Tara, Director General of the Department of Youth Services & Sports (YSS) J&K, visited the Government College of Physical Education in Gadoora, Ganderbal, to review both completed and ongoing infrastructure projects. During his visit, he met with the District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Executive Engineers from R&B, and the J&K Sports Council to discuss progress and plans.
He inspected several facilities, including the Girls’ and Boys’ Hostels, the Synthetic Athlete Track, and the newly completed Badminton Indoor Hall. Rajinder Singh Tara expressed satisfaction with the craftsmanship and emphasized the importance of adhering to project timelines to avoid cost overruns. He also visited the college library, smart classrooms, and the in-house health center.
During an interactive session with students from BPEd and MPEd programs, he praised their dedication to physical education and assured support for organizing the third edition of the college’s Sports Festival. The Director General also addressed the concerns of the teaching and non-teaching staff regarding service-related issues and assured them of assistance within the norms. He was accompanied by senior officials and various section officers from the department.
