LEH, Sept 22: Lt General Raghu Srinivasan, Director General of Border Roads (DGBR), inspected crucial infrastructure projects being executed by Project Himank along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh.
Brig Vishal Srivastava, Chief Engineer of Project Himank, briefed the DGBR on the progress. Lt Gen Srinivasan recognized the team’s exceptional work, urging them to sustain their momentum and meet project deadlines.
During the visit, Lt Gen Srinivasan emphasized the importance of resource efficiency, timely completion of projects, and maintaining high-quality standards without compromising safety. He also highlighted the need to adopt advanced technologies and best practices to accelerate the pace of work, in alignment with the Border Roads Organization’s (BRO) commitment to modernization.
Earlier, on September 10, the DGBR visited the Mudh-Nyoma Advanced Landing Ground (ALG), set to become the world’s highest landing ground. The airfield, currently under construction by Project Himank, is progressing rapidly, with the runway expected to be completed by November 2024. Situated in the sensitive Eastern Ladakh sector, the airfield is being developed to support troop deployments in forward areas.
Additionally, during his visit, Lt Gen Srinivasan interacted with the villagers of Hanle as part of the “Vibrant Village Programme,” addressing their concerns and assuring them of BRO’s support in fostering development in remote areas of Ladakh.
