JAMMU, Jan 2: Be careful and alert to avoid any kind of damage, strengthen the security systems and be duty bound.
This was stated by the Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh while speaking on the opening ceremony of the Inter Zone Sport Meet at Gulshan Ground here today.
DGP said that the proxy war thrust upon from the Pakistan has not stopped yet and J&K Police and other security forces are continuously fighting it and we continue to sacrifice our dear colleagues for the security and integrity of our State and Nation. The DGP said that anti-national elements and their handlers from across the border are providing guns to the young people so as to create disturbances in the State. He advised the youth of the State not to fall prey to such designs and join the main stream. He said that the youth who desire to return to their homes will be given all possible help in their rehabilitation.
He said that during 2018 different wings of the police have performed excellent and hoped that all the police personnel in different wings will take their good work forward in 2019 as well.
While greeting the retired, serving police officers, players, managers and the spectators on the New Year the DGP said that such events provide an opportunity to the people to come close and develop new friendships. He said that the police personnel of different zones must take advantage of this. He complemented the ADGP Armed and IGP Armed Jammu for successful organization of Inter Battalion Sports event and hoped that Inter Zone Sports event will also be a huge success.
He said that such events provide opportunity to the players to get ready for the national and international competitions. He also advised the players and other participants not to restrict the sports to the competitions only but must make them a part of their routine life.
Earlier, ADGP Armed AK Choudhary in his address welcomed serving, retired police officers, participating zones and others. He gave a brief resume of the different events conducted by the J&K Police for its personnel as also for the youth of the State under Civic Action Programme (CAP). He also gave details about the different games in which competitions will be held during the event.
IGP Armed Jammu Danesh Rana while presenting vote of thanks said that in the future the J&K Police will continue to hold such events to inculcate sports spirit among its personnel and also make them understand and work for healthy body and healthy mind.
