DGP grants scholarship in favour of wards of martyrs, deceased cops

JAMMU, Dec 12: Continuing its endeavor to provide financial assistance to the wards of martyr police personnel and the wards of deceased police personnel, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh today sanctioned Rs 3.75 lakh in favour of 37 such wards under two different orders of Police Headquarters.
A scholarship of Rs 2.66 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of 22 wards of martyred police personnel, pursuing education in different classes. Rs 12,000 each has been sanctioned in favour of two wards of martyred police personnel, pursuing Masters in professional degree courses, Rs 10,000 each have been sanctioned in favour of 15 such ward studying in different classes from 11th to graduation and Rs 6,000 each has been sanctioned in favour of six wards of martyred police personnel studying in from class 7th to 10th. Similarly, Rs 2400 each has been sanctioned in favour of four such wards who are under study in lower primary classes.
A scholarship of Rs 1.15 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of the wards of deceased police personnel who died while in service due to natural/ accidental deaths. Rs 5,000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 15 wards of deceased police personnel, pursuing education in different classes from primary to graduation.
The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police welfare Fund and Central Police Education Fund for the academic year 2018-2019 and 2019-2020. The scholarships are granted every year for the school going children of police martyrs, deceased police personnel to provide them assistance in pursuing education.
