SRINAGAR, May 25: Director General of Police (DGP), K Rajendra Kumar, interacted with IPS (State Police Service) Induction Training Course Officers, who called upon him here today.
Mr. Rajendra was interacting with a group of IPS officers from different States of the Country, who are currently on a Study-cum-Cultural Tour, to Jammu and Kashmir, at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here this evening. He called upon them to serve the nation with the highest degree of commitment, missionary zeal and come up to the expectations of the people at large. He said that we should always remain prepared to safeguard the sovereignty and integrity of the nation even by making supreme sacrifices, he added.
Referring to the functioning of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Mr. Rajendra said that force has a rich tradition of public service adding that this legacy has to be carried forward for times to come. He said that JKP has emerged as one of the best police forces in the country and the force have to increase proficiency at various fronts of policing.The officers have a great responsibility to lead the force towards further heights. During the hostile situations, officers have to exhibit tolerance and skills of professionalism. Good public dealing and humane approach are the main weapons to deal any situation, the DGP said.
On the occasion, through power point presentation, the officers were given a detailed appraisal about the functioning of various Wings of Jammu and Kashmir Police, the security and law & order situations handled by the force in the past and also various other measures taken for combat terrorism as well as to handling law and order situations.
On the occasion a detailed interaction and question-answer session was held with the DGP and other officers, they shared their experiences and replied several questions with regard to professional policing.
Among others, the interaction function was attended by ADsGP, SP Vaid, VK Singh, SM Sahai, Dilbag Singh and L.Mohanti, IsGP, AK Choudhary, HK Lohia, SJM Geelani, AG Mir, MA Khan, Mukesh Singh, Sham Lal Sharma, MA Ganai, JP Singh and other police officers.
