JAMMU, Oct 30: Getting the better of Sandeep Khandotra in a close contest by 3-2 in the summit clash, Dheeraj Arora lifted the men’s title in the 33rd Jammu District Table Tennis Championship, organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Table Tennis Association at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here.
Earlier, in men’s semifinals, Dheeraj Arora defeated Vasu Dewan by 3-2 and Sandeep Khadotra prevailed over Jayesh Singh by 3-2.
On this occasion, Ashutosh Sharma, Secretary J&K Olympic Association was the chief guest who later-on distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up peddlers.
Speaking on the occasion, he lauded the efforts of the players and the Association for better performances.
In Under-12 Cadet boys final, Rohan Langar beat Divyansh 3-2, while in Under-12 Cadet girls final, Iknoor drubbed Ragini 3-2.
In Sub Junior boys final, Saksham defeated Akhilesh 3-1, while in Sub Junior girls final, Iknoor beat Suhani 3-1.
In Junior boys final, Ritvik got the better of Saksham 3-1, while in Junior girls final, Iknoor trounced Shreya 3-0.
In women’s final, Iknoor beat Shreya 3-1, while in Veteran’s singles final, Dheeraj Arora outplayed Anuj Verma 3-0.
The matches were officiated by Narinder Kour (SAI coach), Sandeep Khadotra (NIS Table Tennis coach), Meenu Rajesh and Asad Sharma (Coach).
