Dheeraj of RBI wins men’s title in 37th Stag Inter-District TT C’ship

JAMMU, Oct 31: Dheeraj Arora of RBI won men’s singles title in the 37th Stag Inter-District Table Tennis Championship, organized by Jammu and Kashmir Table Tennis Association, which concluded at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here.
The finals of the Championship were played today, followed by an impressive valedictory function, wherein Kavinder Gupta, Speaker J&K Legislative assembly was the chief guest, while Ranjeet Kalra, Member J&K State Sports Council was the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion chief guest encouraged the players and said that Government is committed for the betterment of the sportsmen and sports in the State.
He further said that the overall development of the child should be taken care of rather than focusing on studies only.
Prominent amongst others present on the occasion were Ajay Sharma, Rajan Sharma, S Satbir Singh, SP Singh, Satish Gupta, Narinder Singh, Sheetal Gandotra, Renuka Aima, Manmeet Kour, Maninder Singh, Lokesh Sharma, Saleem Bandey, Ashok Singh and Ravi Singh.
Earlier, in men’s singles final, Dheeraj Arora of RBI defeated Jayesh Singh of MBS by (4-0) to lift the title, while in women’s singles final, Jahnavi Pandoh got better of Shazar by (3-1) to win the title. In veteran’s singles, Prabjot Singh toppled JR Kalsi to claim the title.
In cadet boys, Manya Mansotra defeated Akhilesh (3-2), while in cadet girls, Iknoor Kour drubbed Suhani Singh 3-0.
In sub junior boys, Faisal Mir defeated Hanumant Sharma (3-1), while in Sub junior girls, Ashmit Kour trounced Archita Kesar (3-2).
In junior boys, Manandeep defeated Ritvik Gupta (3-1), while in junior girls, Shreya outclassed  Jahnavi Pandoh (3-2). In youth boys, Ritvik Gupta prevailed over Manandeep Singh (3-1).
