JAMMU, Aug 11: Brilliant all-round show by Dhruv Mahajan, coupled with good batting display by Sameer Khajuria and bowling performance by Hardeep Singh helped Simula XI to thrash Khalsa Cricket Club by a big margin of 101 runs and seal berth in the finals of the ongoing Chevrolet Cup T20 Cricket Tournament at KC School ground, here today.
Earlier, batting first, Simula scored a mammoth total of 194 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Sameer Khajuria was the top scorer with 45 runs, while Dhruv Mahajan contributed 40 runs to the total. For Khalsa Club, Nitin and Ashok took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Khalsa Club got bundled out for a paltry total of 93 runs in 14.2 overs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 101 runs. Mannu and Nitin contributed 18 and 11 runs respectively. For Simula, Dhruv Mahajan and Hardeep Singh scalped 3 wickets each. Dhruv Mahajan was adjudged as man of the match for his superb all-round show. He was presented a Westside Coupon worth Rs 500.
