JAMMU, Nov 18: Director Health Services Jammu Dr Baljeet Singh Pathania conducted an extensive tour of remote areas of district Kathua. During his two days visit, he along with CMO Kathua visited CHC Basohli, PHC Karanwara and District Hospital Kathua.
At CHC Basohli, Director Health Services directed the Chief Medical Officer Kathua to shift the PHC Mahanpur to the newly constructed building. While reviewing the functioning of these institutions, Director Health Services asked the concerned staff to gear up their efforts to provide every possible healthcare service to the people of the district.
While interacting with patients of CHC Basohli, he informed that a First Aid Centre will continue its functioning in the old CHC complex along with availability of ambulance and immunization facility.
Dr. Pathania also dedicated newly constructed Sulabh Shochalya in the District Hospital Kathua premises to public.
He reviewed the ongoing surgical camp at CHC Basohli which was organized by Health Department in collaboration with the Onkar Singh Memorial Trust. Free check-up besides services including investigations were provided to beneficiaries during the camp.
A total of 1864 patients in OPD were attended and 72 surgeries including major and minor were performed .Besides 297 X-Rays, 2149 Laboratory Tests, 200 Ultrasounds and 156 ECG were performed during the camp.
He assured every help to the health institutions to further improve the facilities. He impressed upon the functionaries of health Department to work with utmost zeal, sincerity and dedication to delivery equitable health care services to the public.
Later, DHS also convened a meeting with senior doctors, para-medical staff and reviewed the working of health institutions of the district.
