Diarrhea grips 3 Panchayat areas, young woman dies

UDHAMPUR, Aug 10: Diarrhea and Dysentery have gripped  three Panchayat areas of Panchari block where one death of a woman because of the ailment has been reported.
According to the locals, Panchayat  Basnote, Dubigali and  Damnote of Panchari block are affected because of Diarrhea and Dysentery while a young woman, namely Guddi Devi (22),  wife of Khem Raj of Basnote died because of this ailment.
Sarpanch Basnote,  Kailash Kumari said that  in three villages,  ward number 3,  Bithua and Chakli of his Panchayat, 35 members of ten families were suffering from Diarrhea or Dysentery.
Sarpanch Dubigali,  Yash Paul Singh said that in villages Dubi Gali, Nali Nika, Basnot and Mogri of his Panchayat, Diarrhea has caught around 50 family members of 20  families.
However, BMO Pancheri Dr  Satpal said that as reported by the MO PHC Mongri,  Basnote and adjoining area,  no case of Diarrhea and Dyscentary has so far been reported in Basnote and adjoining areas, except one death due to unconfirmed reasons. At the same time, he added that Chlorine tablets, Zinc Sulphate, ORS packets and  anti Diarrhea drugs were distributed  among the people. “Awareness regarding prevention of Diarrhea & Dyscentary is also being given and our  team will visit for few days in the area”, he added.
