JAMMU, May 8: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) organized an Inter School Zonal Level Tournament for Boys Under-14-17 years in the sports discipline of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Chess, Badminton, Yoga and Wrestling at GHSS of Sports Zone Chowki Choura, here today.
Under the supervision of ZPEO Chowki Choura Nirmal Manhas, the tournament was inaugurated by Principal GHSS Chowki Choura, Satpal Sharma in the presence of ZPEO Chowki Choura and all the field staff of the Zone. About 400 students’ from both Government and private institutions participated in the competitions. All the field staff of Zone Chowki Choura were present during the competitions.
Meanwhile, in the Bisnah Sports Zone of the district, an Inter-school tournament for Boys U-14 and U-17 was organized by the Department. Activities were organized under the supervision of zonal physical Education officer Bishnah who interacted with the students, players of various institutions and encouraged them to take part in sports for their better future and great health. Nassem Bano Headmaster GHS Chak Murar after declaring various games open appreciated the efforts of YSS in channelizing sports talent of the youth. More than six hundred Boys participated in the tourney.
In another sports zone Dansal, a grand tournament for Boys of U-14 & U-17 years-age group was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the guidance of zonal physical Education officer Dansal. Principal GGMHSS K. Nagrota Sudha Kumari was the Chief Guest on this occasion.
