JAMMU, Dec 7: In order to bridge the gap between Police and public and to channelize the youth energy in right direction, Police today organized Volleyball Friendship Cup, under Civic Action Programme in Samba.
The tournament was inaugurated by Shakeel Ahmed Beig, DIG Jammu-Kathua Range. DIG Jammu was accompanied by Shailendra Kumar Mishra, IPS, Munish Anand, SDPO Samba, SHO Samba, Ravinder Singh and other police officers.
Beigh in his inaugural address said that police is organizing various programmes under Civic Action Programme in order to bridge the gap between police and public, adding that in order to keep the youth mentally and physically fit and to channelize the youth energy in right direction, the young generation should participate in different sports activities.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were NC leader Mohinder Singh, Pradesh Youth Congress president, Paramjit Singh, Dr MS Pathania, Dr Attar Singh, Dr Deepika Gupta, Prof Nitu Singh, Dr Sandhia, Prof Jagdish Kumar and Neetu Chalotra.
In the today’s matches, Govt Degree College Samba, Jakh Club Samba, KV Samba and Swankha Club registered emphatic wins and entered in the next round of semifinals.
