DIG Jammu organizes awareness camp on road safety

JAMMU, Feb 20: In order to reduce fatal road accidents and to save precious human lives, Shakeel Ahmed Beig, DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range today organized road safety awareness camp at Domana under Civic Action Programme. Arvind Kotwal, RTO Jammu also attended the camp. DIG Jammu while speaking on the occasion said that road user especially motorcyclist and pedestrian must remember that road safety is everyone’s responsibility as the fatal road accidents generally are caused by over speeding, rash and negligent driving, over loading, use of mobile phone, drunken driving, poor condition of motor vehicle. Arvind Kotwal, RTO Jammu also spoke on the occasion and made aware the students/transporters/drivers about the traffic rules as well as norms to be followed for preparation of Driving Licenses. DIG gave away the trophies to Sharmika Raina, student of 9th Class of Saint Xevior School; Master Anmol class 9th Ranjit Memorial High School and Hansija Sharma class 11th Saint Xevior School, who were declared Ist, 2nd and 3rd respectively in debate on road safety and also given away consolation prizes to Shajia Khurshid student Jammu Aurvedic College Jammu, Muskan Anand class 9th Saint Xevior School, Master Surya 9th class Ranjit Memoral High School, Master Sajid Hussain 9th Conventary Scholars School Chinore, Shardha Dutt 9th class Saint Xevior School. The DIG was accompanied Rajnish Pran, SP Staff Officer to DIG Jammu, Mohan Lal Kaith SP Hqrs, Parshotam Sharma, Dy Director Prosecution and Sanjay Kumar Parihar SDPO Domana.
