Srinagar, Dec 23: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police, South Kashmir Range (SKR) Nitish Kumar today organized a meeting with the youth who had participated and won medals in various talent hunt programmes organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police.
A police spokesman said these youth had displayed their performance and excelled in singing competition ‘Chhoona Hai Aasman’, debating and marathon run competition.
The DIG at the outset congratulated all these youth for achieving excellence in various extra–curricular activities despite poor infrastructure and support and urged them to freely express their vision and dreams. During the meet, singers, in unanimity, desired that Police Department should organize musical contests more often and help in forming a musical band in each district, the spokesman said.
The spokesman added that the marathon runners desired that J&K Police should help to organize some athletic coaching camps and also facilitate their admission in some good sports academy in the country. “Debate competition winners hoped that J&K Police would organize more debating competitions and also facilitate their access to good books and literature.
“DIG SKR assured that J&K Police, to the extent possible, would help them in achieving their goals in life and actualizing their dreams. He also assured that police department will liaise with the Youth and Sports Department and Department of Tourism and Culture in J&K,” the police spokesman added.
