JAMMU, Oct 11: Eleventh J&K State Strength lifting Championship was declared open by ADGP Dilbag Singh at Indoor Sports Complex here today over 100 players in 8 teams drawn from 8 districts are participating in the two day event. The Chief Guest on the occasion stressed upon the need and importance of sports in the society and assured his support for the promotion of this game in the State.
Vicky Mahajan president of the J&K State Strength lifting association expressed his gratitude to Sports Council for providing the venue to promote the game through this championship.
According to the organisers the selected players will be send for Jr. National Strength Lifting Championship to be held in the month of December 2013 at Assam.
Among others present on the occasion were Raman Sharma, Satpal Sharma, Satpal, Ajay , Ashraf Khan, Ashok Singh, Sohail Umar Khan and Gautam Chowdhary.
